About Baku Modern International School

Baku Modern International School (BMIS) was founded in 2012 and quickly gained accreditation and the status of an international school due to its educational system based on international experience and sustainable development. Currently, the school is home to 310 students.

At BMIS, English subjects are taught alongside national standards, creating a comprehensive curriculum that enhances students' knowledge and skills. The school follows the US Educational Standards, specifically the Common Core state standard, which is an innovative method and strategy for sustainable development in education. To ensure a high-quality education, BMIS employs both local and foreign teachers with international teaching experience.

BMIS students actively participate in various republican and international professional Olympiads and subject competitions. These include the American Mathematical Contest (I place), SASMO (II place), the Azercell Cup (I- II places) organized by Azerbaijan-France College UFAZ, Geoscience Competition (III place), Technofest Cometition 2022, STEM Olympiad, RSM International Math Contest, Purple Math Comet (I place), Kangaroo, World Math Day, and many others.

Baku Modern International School is a Candidate School* for the IB DP Program.

This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Baku Modern International School believes is important for our students. *Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related

The school mission statement, integrated within the school curriculum, culture, and community outreachis defined through key standards which express Baku Modern International School’s commitment to learning. These outcomes are assessed every three years (grades 3, 6, 9, 11with regular observation and data collection to develop effective learning opportunities, review areas of weakness, and celebrate students’ achievement within the school program.
