About International School
Baku Modern Educational Complex - International School (BMEC-IS) was founded in 2012 and quickly gained accreditation and the status of an international school due to its educational system based on international experience and sustainable development. Currently, the school is home to around 500 students.
At BMEC-IS, English subjects are taught alongside national standards, creating a comprehensive curriculum that enhances students' knowledge and skills. In order to offer a global education and student-centred approach, BMEC-IS offers the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary International Curriculum, as well as the IB DP for its older students. To ensure a high-quality education, BMEC-IS employs both local and foreign teachers with international teaching experience.
BMEC-IS students actively participate in various republican and international professional Olympiads and subject competitions. These include the American Mathematical Contest (I place), SASMO (II place), the Azercell Cup (I- II places) organized by Azerbaijan-France College UFAZ, Geoscience Competition (III place), Technofest Cometition 2022, STEM Olympiad, RSM International Math Contest, Purple Math Comet (I place), Kangaroo, World Math Day, and many others.

For further clarity, we have developed unique visions and objectives for every sector, with the aim of inspiring and encouraging all the participants in those areas towards goals that are most relevant to their needs.

The school mission statement, integrated within the school curriculum, culture, and community outreach, is defined through key standards which express Baku Modern Educational Complex - International School’s commitment to learning. These outcomes are reviewed every three years with regular observation and data collection to develop effective learning opportunities, review areas of weakness, and celebrate students’ achievement within the school program.
