Asif Baxishov, a Physical Education teacher in the English Section of Baku Modern Education Complex, is a professional representing Azerbaijan on the international basketball stage.

He holds the FIBA Commissioner title and is currently the only Azerbaijani with this distinction. He obtained his FIBA Commissioner licence after participating in a special seminar and successfully completing the examinations in Germany.

Asif Baxishov also serves as a Technical Delegate at Basketball Champions League competitions, overseeing the organisational and technical processes of international basketball events. His next professional engagement will be the BCL Technical Delegate Workshop for the 2026–2027 season, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 30 September–1 October.
